England is a kingdom in Europe during The Tudors. In the series, it is ruled by King Henry VIII of the Tudor dynasty. England also rules a small enclave of eastern Ireland, as well as the port of Calais in France (with the result that the King is formally titled "King of England, Ireland and France". It is bordered in the north by the Kingdom of Scotland.

Over the course of The Tudors, England becomes the first major Protestant Kingdom outside of Germany, as King Henry declares himself Supreme Head of the Church of England in order to annul his first marriage, to Catherine of Aragon. This, in turn, leads to a frequent shifting of England's foreign alliances, between the Kingdom of France, the Protestant League of German Princes, and the Kingdom of Spain and the Holy Roman Empire (the last two of which are ruled by the same man, Charles V).
